Getting to Know ShowKase

It's hard to pull too far away from our roots.  The things you learn when you're young are sometimes the same as other people and sometimes they aren't.

I grew up in a reduce, reuse, recycle home.  If it could be fixed, you fixed it.  If we couldn't do it, one of our grandpas could.  My grandpa who could build anything out of wood scraps that he would find thrown out.  This wasn't what everyone else was doing.  I realized this the day our teacher had us tell  how many bags of trash our family threw out per week for a group project.  "Two" I said.  You would have thought that I just admitted to committing murder the way the other kids looked over.  It was so astonishing because we had seven people in our house, at least one in diapers at the time too.  I remember the one boy who was an only child with a single parent exclaiming,  "We have at least five bags of trash!"  That seemed to be the trend all around.  I had no idea people didn't recycle or reuse things.  In our household that was a foreign concept.

This mindset extended into all aspects of our lives and evolved as we grew up.  Reusing and re-purposing has become a game to our family.  My mother is still the best at it.  Which is why she is growing our family passion into a  business!  Our designated furniture hoarder in our family, she always knows what to add to make it look perfect in your spot or what the current trends are before they get huge.  The more vintage and unique the better.  They don't make them like they used to pieces hoping to glorify her showroom.  Now with ShowKase Home Consign she is creating a unique place to help you share yours and make some extra money too!  Or even better, maybe you find that missing piece your home has been looking for!

ShowKase Home Consign.... Coming June 2020!
