Why use a consignment?

When you bring us your furniture we take all the work out of selling.  ShowKase shall use its best efforts to promote the sale of your merchandise, and place it in a prominent showroom space.  We will use many different marketing tools to promote and advertise your items.  

Pricing

Consignment is a partnership, and ShowKase Home Consign strives to get you the best possible price for your merchandise. However, it is in everyone's best interest to price items at a fair market value that will realistically sell within a reasonable time frame. When all is said and done, it is market response to an item that truly "sets the price."  If an item doesn't sell within 30 days, it will be reduced by 10%.  For every 30 days thereafter another 10% reduction will be taken until the end of the consignment period.  

How long will ShowKase consign my piece?
The consignment period has many options with a minimum of 30 days required. 

  
How do I get paid?
You receive 50% of the agreed-upon selling price.  Your proceeds can be mailed to you or you can choose an electronic transfer.    

What type of furniture do you accept?
We take gently, and lovingly used pieces of furniture and accessories.  

All items will be wiped down and/or steamed to disinfect in keeping with safety guidelines.  

Here are some guidelines of things we CANNOT accept.  

•  Upholstery that is ripped, dirty, scratched, and/or has any animal hair on it.  (If movers take an        upholstered piece that needs cleaning and we agree to do so there will be a cleaning fee + a 25% surcharge.)
• Furniture that has been broken and re-glued, unless done by a professional.
• Particle board furniture that has started to come apart and/or chip.
• Furniture with cooking odors or smoke smells-believe me, it won't come out! 
• Furniture with water damage, loose veneer, deep scratches/gouges, extensive scratches, discolorations, sun-fading, table leaves that aren't the same color as the table top, etc.
•  Beds with missing rails and/or hardware, headboards without a frame, beds with broken parts of any type, or beds that have been modified.  We also cannot accept mattresses and box springs except in the case of futons and sleeper sofas.
